| The union was formed in 1968 and since than has been functioning as the Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers’ Union. The union has been protecting its member’s rights and has also been concerned with social and communal events since its establishment. In 1993 the union has gone through a reform as changes occurred in the unions administrative board. After the reform the union has undertaken a diagnostic mission for the Cyprus Turkish community. In the recent years the union has played a great role in the establishment process of “This Country is Ours Platform” and has been actively involved in the Turkish Cypriot Social Security Law Amendments. In brief, the union has gone through a historical progression as it has been concerned with community events and the protection of its members rights. Today the union has come to a much stronger position and it plays a great role in being the voice of the Turkish Cypriot teachers as well as the Turkish Cypriot community. |

| Turkish Cypriot Association Of University Women is an Turkish Cypriot NGO based in north Cyprus and working on women and gender issues. It was established in April 1991, mainly aiming to promote understanding and friendship among the university women, to promote cooperative work, to encourage participation of women in solving of problems arise at all levels of life, to empower and enable women to be come influential and effective in every field and all levels of public life, and to take active role in conservation of environmental and historical assets.

| A group of business people and tradesmen who saw that the way to get their political rights was through economic development and uniting, decided to come together under a common structure. After the 1958 Zurich and London Agreements, a group of businesspeople in Nicosia called on other businesspeople in the island to have a meeting. The first meeting took place on 15 November 1958 at the Evkaf Department building and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce was established. |

| The Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Shopkeepers and Artisans began its institutionalization process at the end of 1994. At first, the organization was called Turkish Cypriot Shopkeepers and Artisans Association and it dealt with the problems of micro businesses. The Association was only able to carry out operations under the by-law of associations that limited its scope; therefore, the association was changed into a chamber, which is accepted as the most important professional organization, with the law passed by the Council of Ministers and the Parliament. |
