| The main aim of this project has been to promote awareness of the geological history of Cyprus among all the island’s communities and foster a sense of shared geological heritage. In order to do so, we have worked on creating a database with information on the most significant geological sites; developing user-friendly tools that will provide information and knowledge to anyone interested; and disseminating this knowledge as widely as possible. |

| Aware of the potential impact of agricultural intensification on the island`s birdlife, the UN and the Leventis Foundation have funded a one-year island-wide study of the issue. Coordinated by the ESC, the study, completed in November 2003, has utilised the skills of a team of volunteer recorders to compare bird communities in more and less intensively farmed sites in the Paphos, Limassol, Nicosia , Larnaca, Famagusta , Kyrenia and Morphou districts. The project covered cereal field sites, vineyards, groves (citrus, olive, almond and carob orchards) and abandoned and scrub sites in all four seasons. |

| Karpasia National Park Area: One of the most important biological diversity region of the Mediterranean, historical and archeological site and national park area, also recently designated in line with the EU regulations as Special Protected Area. Houses more than 100 species of rare plants,128 endemic flora, 68 % of the endangered species, migrant birds, feral donkeys. The park area is an important nesting area of the endangered Carretta carreta and Chelonies mydas. 84% of total turtle nests found on All Karpaz Beaches, 19 species of butterfly were recorded at DNPA. St. Andreas Monastery one of the most important places for Christianity located at the tip end of the Peninsula. |

| The KYRENIA MOUNTAIN TRAIL is a 220km trail along the length of the Bespamark and Kyrenia mountain chain, which traverses the whole northern coast of Cyprus, east to west. Stretching from the Zafer Cape at the eastern tip of the island to Cape Korucam at the western tip, the range of mountains are without question the most beautiful in the whole island of Cyprus and probably the Mediterranean. |
